  1. hired on or before September 1, 2002: Employment security to age 61
  2. hired after September 1, 2002
    • < 15 years of service
      • 2 years employment security
      • ne additional year (unpaid) on recall list
    • >= 15 years of service
      • 3 years employment security
  3. Option to leave
    • employee may give up right to employment security at any point
    • employee will receive remainder of severance package
  4. Assignments
    • short-term
      • Equivalent to CUSSU grade 9 positions or higher
      • For a maximum of 6 months total
    • long-term
      • No more than 2 grades below home (original) position

    • bridge (distribute) severance up to age 55, then take early retirement at 55 (no bonus)
